ABBEY CARPET OF TACOMA

Too many problems

We used Abbey Carpet after they had been recommended to us from a few different sources in September 2015. We were buying a house that had pet damaged carpet and wanted it replaced before we moved in. We worked with Mick and it was a very frustrating situation. Trying to get ahold of him to get paperwork done or questions answered was nearly impossible because he was always out golfing. He never had a "formal" written proposal for us, always saying it was too far out from the is tall date to really get anything done. We finally got the proposal late the night before install (so too late to really confirm anything). We had asked for the floors to be sealed before putting down new flooring because of the pet damage, they said it wouldn't be a problem but they ended up just spraying with enzyme spray instead of sealing the floors (so when the windows get closed for a length of time the smell of animal urine is still present). My husband came to the house the morning of the install to let them into the house and noticed the carpet looked wrong. The installers insisted it would look different once in the house. He tried calling Mick but he wasn't in the office (out golfing). When Mick called back later that day he insisted it was right and of we felt it was wrong we would have to come down to the office to prove it (my husband and I both worked and couldn't head down then right then). We were able to get in a couple days later and proved that it was the wrong color, but if wanted it fixed we would have to move all of our furniture back out and pay the extra cost. So now I'm living with a color carpet I didn't want. We also had laminate installed and over the last couple months the transition pieces have been coming off. My husband called and was told "just get some wood glue". When we paid almost $8000 for flooring I expected a better result than this. Save yourself some struggle and go somewhere else.
