Our original objective was a partial remodel to our 40 year old home. We intended to remodel the master bedroom/bath, remove downstairs walls for a more open spacious look and to enlarge the kitchen area. Like an HGTV program, we uncovered many construction opportunities so we ended with a complete remodel. The project involved significant structural changes. Rafal provided valuable input to changes needed in the drawings provided by the structural engineer. There was much more structural changes than anticipated. G&D completed these things per spec. Construction began October 1, 2019 and finished June 2020. The G&D construction slowed some due to Cover-19 but the impact was mostly related to obtaining materials from vendors during the lockdown. G&D worked through this period and followed guidelines set by the county. City inspector approvals were easily obtained with only minor rework. I am satisfied with the finished product and would recommend G&D to other clients.

With any large project there are some ups and downs. The staff working on the job were competent and always polite to us and our neighbors. Issues were quickly resolved and corrected. At times, I think some issues could have been avoided with more supervision. I was responsible for obtaining appliances, electrical fixtures, plumbing fixtures, HVAC, tile and flooring. Admittedly, I over spent. I think both G&D and and I could have done a better job controlling costs. The project took a bit longer than I expected but I have been told similar projects done by other contractors took much longer.

To summarize, I am happy with the work performed and the finished job. I recommend G&D for this type of large remodel project.
