Mr Mover

Paid for Mr Mover to move my belongings and put them in storage but the service was never provided.

I am a retired Senior Citizen who on September 5, 2017, contacted the Owner of Mr. Mover and asked if he could move my belongings out of my apartment on Amherst Ave, in College Park and place them in their storage facility. When the movers arrived, I paid in advance the sum of $546. They told me I could leave and need not be present. So I left out of town in search of another apartment. Three weeks later when I called to find out where the storage was, I was informed that my possessions were not in their facility. free weeks of trying to locate my things, we concluded that they did not perform the service, did not attempt to contact me nor attempted to return my money. A couple days after the scheduled move, my landlord gave everything to a local charity. I worked hard my whole life to accumulate what I had and literally lost everything I owned (piano, Computer, portable fireplace, bar, book collection, sports memorbillia, Laptop, DVD player, expensive clothes, shoes, 4 flat screen TV's and so much more). The Better Business Bureau has attempted on several occasions to mediate to encourage Mr. Mover to take responsibility. It wasn't until 2 months later that Wells Fargo contacted Me. Mover and forced them to return my money. I always thought Mr. Mover was a "reputable" and fair company. I'm deeply hurt and very disappointed in being taken advantage of, not to mention having to start all over because of Mr Mover's neglegence and disregard for it's customers. They have ignored the Better Business Bureau, and my attempts to contact them. My next step is to file a claim in court and notify the local news stations.
