Don't go here if you want your dog trained within a reasonable amount of time.
In previous years, Shelly's School for Dogs had a great reputation. Being recommended by vets & satisfied owners, it seemed like the logical place to take a dog. As the weeks go by, our dog is becoming more unmanageable at home. After 4 weeks, we literally begged for some pointers on how to control him. We were told that the dog was "immature" & that we would have to wait until until he completed his training. Once the dog's training was complete, then, we would be trained to control him. Well, we're still waiting. We're considering pulling our dog out of Shelly's, losing the money we've invested, & taking him somewhere else. Our other dogs were not trained here. They were sent to a 3 week "boot camp" type training facility. The dogs were all trained within that time period, & remained well trained for the rest of their lives. Our dog's worsening behavior seems to be the result not being corrected at home. The trainer that was training our dog recently left Shelly's. I can't say if that individual is the reason why our dog isn't trained, or if we have the world's dumbest German Shepherd. Do your homework. We didn't.
