In April of 2024, I went into the ER with my long haired Calico cat. She had been diagnosed with Lymphoma just 2 weeks prior. I noticed earlier that morning that she wasn't herself and seemed to be having a little difficulty breathing as the morning wore on. I was met with extreme compassion by the triage nurse as she took the information down and gently scooped my baby out of my arms. She told me they would call me into the room shortly. Within 15-20 minutes I was sitting a room as Dr Lee explained they were trying to give her some oxygen to see if that helped her be more comfortable. There were other options that I could have tried but given the stage of her lymphoma it would be solely my choice. I chose to give my baby peace. Through my tears she assured me I was making the right decision. They let me hold my girl for as long as I needed and to let them know when I was ready. I spent over an hour holding her and loving on her. When the time came Dr Lee hugged me and gently took my baby. The days following I received a phone call from Dr Desanto, my regular Vet, to tell me how very sorry he was, and that if there was anything I needed to please reach out. I received a sympathy card from the ER staff, signed by all of them, as well as another Sympathy card from Dr Desanto along with information, should I need counseling. I have never received such attentive contact and compassion from my previous vet office. Thank you to all the staff at Oradell Animal Hospital.
