Our house was built in 1957, with oak flooring throughout. Carpeting has covered the floors nearly all the years since the first family moved in. Removal of the carpet revealed many dark and apparently deep stains, along with "tracks" from the carpet padding. Why even consider trying to leave them bare? Rob inspired confidence from the first. He demonstrated how a bit of scraping could take up most of the ugly staining. Another bidder expressed doubt that any of the marks would come up, so I called Prestige Floors back right away to schedule the work. Alex arrived a few days later to begin the magic, and he called me when the floors had been sanded down to virgin wood. What a revelation! Smooth and clean and ready for staining. A few of the deeper stains were still faintly evident, but application of the sample stain colors faded them away. Alex patiently helped me choose the best shade, and in another day, our floors were finished. They have NEVER looked better, with or without carpet. The people I dealt with at Prestige Floors clearly know their stuff. The price charged was fair and reasonable, and I would recommend (and hire) them again without hesitation.
