Rob, the owner of the company and estimator, was easy to reach and schedule the estimate with. The space that needed to be refinished was relatively small, but they treated it as though it was a big job.

His crew, Alex and Fido, were friendly and great at communicating with me along the way. They always showed up on time and sometimes even a little early. Their work ethic was excellent, which can be difficult to find these days in contractors and technicians. They made every effort to satisfy my needs and hopes regarding the repair and refinish. They exceeded my expectations!

This is the first time I've hired a wood floor refinisher (I've hired many over the years) where what was promised was what I got. My 100+ year old maple floors were very damaged by a prior tenant. It had very deep gouges and fairly deep scratches in many areas of the floor. Prestige did their very best to eliminate the gouges while using a fine, professional touch. They are true professionals. The floors look so much better. One large gouge is still somewhat visible, but it is still much better than before, and I'm happy they didn't sand down too much of the wood. I knew there was only so much they could do after all before they sanded down too much of the wood floor.

In addition, I wondered aloud about what to do with a small hallway that had previously been carpeted and was adjacent to the bathroom. I asked Rob if it was worth it to sand and refinish it and if he thought it would look good. The hallway is made of Doug Fir and it was covered in a sticky substance with nail holes. Doug fir leans orangish-red, unlike maple so a close match would be challenging. He showed me some pictures of similar, prior work he and his crew had done and assured me his crew could almost match the two floors. They did!

His crew explained every step to me prior to doing the work. They just did their magic. I could never imagine it would turn out as well as it did. I am very particular, and I am happy to say the color difference is very slight.

I also had them install new maple where an old vent had been. Of course, the new maple was much lighter in color than the old maple. Typically, when a wood floor refinisher replaces boards it's very easy to see where the new boards are. Not in this case, they tinted the new boards to match the old. No prior wood floor refinisher had ever even offered to do that. They look original!

In every way, Prestige is a solid company. They do what they say they're going to do. They make no excuses, which is also almost unheard of these days. They don't nickel and dime you along the way. They come when they say they're going to come. They work hard.

Attached are photos of what it looked like before they refinished the floor. Unfortunately, right now the floors are covered so I can't attach those photos yet, but I will later.
