My wife and I had considered for some time refinishing our hardwoods after pulling up the carpeting that covered the floors of our mid-century house some years back. With my wife going away for two weeks to a family reunion, we took that opportunity to finally have a floors done professionally and decided to contract Prestige Floors after calling a number of firms and getting a couple estimates. Rob, the owner, agreed to take on the job on short notice after convincing me it would best, both for financial and convenience reasons, to do all the rooms, living / dining room, hallway and 3 bedrooms at one time rather than in shifts. I'm so glad I followed his advice and could not be more pleased with results. The two man crew assigned punctually arrived each morning and did a meticulous job of sanding, filling in the gaps, replacing a couple badly stained and damaged sections with matching red oak planks, hand prepping for staining and sealing and removing all the debris and shards. The transformation has been remarkable; we know have a complete house of beautifully naturally stained flooring, brightening each room and given us an added incentive to only return our essential and best furniture so as to reveal as much of the floor as possible. When i carelessly scratched some of floor while moving some cabinetry, we contacted Rob and he made a special personal trip to try and repair the damage. He was able to disguise the scarring so it barely shows and only if viewed with effort. Rob also gave me some valuable tips on how to maintain the floors and minimize the normal wear-n-tear. I won't hesitate to use Prestige again in the future when the hardwoods require some regular maintenance.
