Sloppy, Lazy, Entitled

STAY AWAY. SLOW, SLOPPY and LAZY. Knowing that working with a good CPA is a two way street, and that a friend had a long relationship with Fulserv Group, I tried to keep my side of the street clean in order to forge a good working relationship with this firm. However, working with Michael Breslin has not caused me a small amount of stress and aggravation. It is not one thing with which I hold issue, rather, a pattern of repeated negligence that leads me to write this review.

Allow me to explain: For starters, I sent in all of my info - clean and organized - for a return, in late January. On April 4, after saying he was going to call me for the past 2 weeks (he hadn't), he finally called me and said he still hadn't filed. He also nickels and dimes, charging for things like quarterly vouchers, whereas all other CPAs include them in their package. I let this slide because I was interested in seeing what he could do in the customer service realm. I later learned the hard way that he has a sloppy, entitled attitude. Michael Breslin infrequently calls and writes back. I would write to ask for confirmation of receipt of materials repeatedly with no reply (I have the email trail to prove it). Furthermore, one of his employees once missed a filing, and I incurred a small penalty as a result. Not a big penalty, but that wasn't the point; Michael Breslin acted as if he had no clue about the transgression even though he was copied on every email during the incident. After a 20 minute curse-filled diatribe about how understaffed he is, he finally said "I'm sorry." to me for the mistake.

This firm is a hot mess. If his customer service was worth it, I'd have no problem paying for any add-on fees. However, this is not the case with Michael Breslin and the Fulserv Group. He didn't act like he is interested in making sure I remain in excellent standing with the IRS. His ongoing excuse is "we're understaffed". If you're so busy then it stands to reason that you can afford to hire more staff, am I right?

I found another CPA right here on YELP who is half the price and already my experience with them has been infinitely smoother and more professional.
