We are in the process of selling our home. Upon inspection, an “unnamed” roofer sent by a real estate agent told our buyer the home needed a “complete reroof”. This was after a 10 minute examination.
Oddly, we had no issues and, we had documented a complete reroof with a warranty only 9 years prior to our purchase of the home. The original tile roof lasted 30 years, this one is only 13? Something wasn’t right.
We called for a second opinion and Dry Plus came the very next day.
I met with the owner who showed me that the high quality re-roof was in fine shape. He pulled up tiles and showed me there was virtually no deterioration at all. The other roofer said it was “completely disintegrated and beyond it’s useful life”. Dry Plus told us, with the double layer underlayment that was installed , it was probably good for another 20 years or more!
He then proceeded to show me some actual issues that needed attention and repair. I told him to do whatever it needed to be right, even if that meant a new roof. He laughed and said it was very minor , nothing to even worry about, just ordinary maintenance and small repairs.
The next day, office sent me a detailed written estimate of less than $1500 to fix everything. Remember, I told him whatever it takes , he could have sold me a new roof too, but he didn’t . He educated me and sold me what I needed. He even called our buyer to ease any concerns he may have. That was above and beyond the call of duty.
Work was scheduled for the next week. His guys showed up on time, fixed everything in half a day and cleaned up like they were never here.
This review is way too long but everyone needs to know - You do not find this integrity in contractors anymore. This is who you call if you need a roof!
