Technician Did Everything He Was Supposed To Do
R&R Mechanical Services has come out a few times now to help with an unusual problem. We have a foul smell and we cannot figure out where it is coming from. It is an oil type smell around the furnace. The technician found a dead mouse in the exchange chamber so he got that cleaned up. The previous technician hadn't found anything but when he checked the chimney he found bags in the chimney and after he removed the bags the smell stopped. The technician who came out this time was going to check the chimney but his ladder was not tall enough. He did check the flames and they were a nice deep indigo blue which shows no sign of oxygen shortage and that the gas is burning completely so it looks good. The chimney is shared with the neighbors so I am wondering (since they found the bags last time) if the neighbor puts bags in their chimney to prevent heat loss if they don't use the fireplace. I wish his ladder was long enough like the last technician so he could have looked into the chimney to see if it was filled with bags again. I guess that is one of the problems with sharing a flue is that you don't know if your neighbor keeps it clear. I have enjoyed the services I have received and I have recommended them to people. I even put them in contact with a local church that brought in a lot of new business for them! Hopefully, since this was recent they will come back and do a courtesy check on the chimney for me. I will continue to recommend R&R Mechanical Services!
