Would to use Gain
I previously used this company in September 2024 and had a positive experience, which is why I called them again on 04/01/2026 when my garage door would only close halfway before reversing.
The technician, Jay, got the door operating and recommended replacing the cables and rollers as preventative maintenance. Trusting his judgment, I approved the work and paid approximately $350. However, the first time I used the door that evening, it hung up and made a loud thumping noise. I contacted the company within 48 hours, but the earliest follow-up appointment was two weeks later.
When a different technician and supervisor arrived, they gave a completely different diagnosis. They claimed the spring was underpowered and that I needed a dual-spring conversion and reinforcement bars for an additional $1,400. This conflicted with what Jay had told me. He had only mentioned a dual-spring setup as a future upgrade, not an immediate issue.
I questioned why I was receiving two different assessments and why the problem had not been identified before I spent $350 on maintenance items. The supervisor became aggressive during the discussion and attempted to charge another service fee even though no repairs were completed and my garage door remained unresolved. After contacting management, the fee was waived because no work had been performed.
My complaint is that I paid for a repair that did not fix the original problem and was then presented with a much larger repair estimate that conflicted with the first technician’s diagnosis. I also never received a detailed written estimate, invoice, or scope of work.
After posting a review, the company contacted me, but despite multiple returned calls and voicemails, I never received follow-up. More than two months later, the issue remains unresolved. I am seeking accountability, clarification regarding the conflicting diagnoses, and reimbursement or another appropriate resolution for services that failed to correct the original problem.
