I ordered a Pioneer head unit, AVH-4100NEX, via ebay. Within hours I received an email that the item had shipped, and it arrived when UPS said it would.
I did the install myself, and only needed to call once to find out where I should connect the head unit to the 'reverse wire' to activate the head unit for the backup camera. I talked to one of their installers, but he wasn't able to give me much help. It wasn't surprising though, given that I am literally on the opposite side of the country and my vehicle is 12 years old. Had I been able to drive to their location, I'm sure they would have been able to help resolve things. As it was, I was able to get the info I needed from a local mobile audio installer.
When I was shopping head units, I noticed that Sound of TriState had multiple items on eBay, at different price points. Options ranged from the bare head unit, to a full-blown system with camera, custom dash kit, Sirius XM dongle and basically every possible option. I went with the head unit and backup camera, as I didn't feel a need for satellite radio. Pricing was lower than what I was able to find with searching, through eBay, which was nice.
Overall, I'm happy with my purchase.
I gave 4 stars for 'Would return' simply because I have no immediate plans to add anything else to my car audio system, however if I decide to add a sub or rear display, I will definitely search them out online.
