Once upon a time there was a do-it-yourselfer who ordered a garage door online to save some money. The customer service representative was very kind and helpful during the order process and all was well with the world. This do-it-yourselfer had limited headroom for his garage door install and he told the lovely customer service representative of this situation and the two made preparations for an easy install and a story with a happy ending. Then came the day when the new garage door arrived!! The do-it-yourselfer has looked forward to this day for so very long and had no clue what he was doing but couldn’t wait to get started! He quickly noticed that there was a problem and called the friendly customer serivice representative who worked hard to find a solution to his problem but had made a mistake in the original order that was going to cost the do-it-yourselfer some extra money. He declined the generous offer and with a little sweat and some creativity the do-it-yourselfer has a wonderful little bundle of joy that encloses his garage at work!!! Moral of the story is.... be careful because mistakes (no matter who’s at fault) are gonna cost you money, not the company! I’m satisfied overall and I’m have a beautiful garage door that I love!!!

Here at Garage Doors Direct we strive to give you the best customer service possible and we completely understand that at times mistakes can be made. That is why we have a check system that we follow when orders are being placed. On top of that we also email you the estimate to be approved before the order is placed. This way everything gets reviewed and confirmed by the customer before the order is processed. With your order we realize that there were some confusions about your headroom. Please keep in mind when this order was processed, we specifically asked what your headroom was and we wrote it down immediately as the question was asked. The number written down as headroom was 16”. While we can understand that there could be some misunderstandings or it is possible that the customer service representative might have misunderstood you, we also have 16” written on the estimate that you approved. This is why we have the check system involved to try and cover any chances of mistakes or misunderstandings before the order is placed. In addition to that, if you had based the order based on 15” of headroom (when the door requires 16” vertical headroom), your final measurement was slightly less then that – which we would still have had to tell you wasn’t enough headroom as well (even if it was by a ¼”). However we truly appreciated your order and understood the confusion involved in placing an order like this so we offered you the conversion parts at just over cost to where we would not make a profit. While we regret that we could not do more of a discount for you, we truly were trying to assist you the best we could based on the information we had available and the confirmation of the estimate that was sent to you. We really hope that inspite of the confusion, we can have the opportunity to work with you in the future. We will work hard to be sure all headroom issues are covered in a clearer manner.
