Not Satisfied

Extremely Disappointed: Rarely do I write a review that is requested, I generally ignore them, and if I have, don’t recalI writing one that is so subpar.
The initial contact with Grand Rapids Heating and Cooling was May 2018, the first heat wave of 2018, in GR MI. The call was due to the air conditioning not working/starting. GR Heating and Cooling worked our-home into their busy schedule on a late Saturday afternoon, this was appreciated. The technician arrived after a long hot day of work (I assume) and checked/reviewed the system, and found that the computer/control board required replacing, and we the-customer agreed to do so. The replacement and installation was $578.50 and the bill was paid. Upon installation the question was asked, “is the system working, because air was minimally blowing air or cool air (if at all)?” The response was yes. The technician was paid as agreed, and he left. A few days later the home owner attempted to turn the heat/cooling system on, no luck with either the furnace or air conditioning unit working, nothing (power switches and breaker box was checked, and on). GR Heating and Cooling was called again and customer service (Curt) was very helpful, accommodating, and friendly and a technician was scheduled today 6/7/18., 5-6pm. The technician showed and indicated a few things; First, a fuse was blown after the new computer board installed and cooling system started. Second, the motor/wheel/bushings would all need to be replaced? Third, technician indicated he would waive service call which is appreciated, however the cost to replace this would be expensive.

In the end, how can I be assured that the fuse that was blown (if this is/was the case) did not short-out the motor?

Finally I realize efficiency furnaces do not last forever, but I struggle with the fact these two major issues happen all at one time, when the heating system was working fine just a few weeks ago? So is there any connection, between an alleged fuse going out and the motor failing??

Finally, as I mentioned before I rarely (if ever) write reviews, but I received two email requesting to provide a review, so here it is.

Sincerely. Patrick
