APlus Interior Design & Remodeling did the initial design of our kitchen layout. They also designed, built, and installed kitchen cabinets and granite counter tops. They were so committed at the end to making sure everything was perfect. Paul, the salesperson, did an amazing job showing us the selection. He was incredibly good and we would have loved to work with him throughout the project. Alex came by several times and helped us with several decisions on the design early on. He did the layout design on the island and made recommendations on a lot of details on the project. He videotaped all the work done and gave that to the designers. Then he sent another guy to wrap up the project, and he was incredible. All of the installers and people who came to work on the project were incredibly professional, clean, and efficient. My wife had nothing but high remarks for them.

The only area I would rate them down a little bit would be on project management. We used a different general contractor to do the majority of the kitchen work, and APlus only did the original design, cabinets, and counters. Having the two of them work together, they were not as effective- although the general contractor was more of the problem. I felt like I had to play project manager, having to take on daily responsibilities of communicating logistics and making sure the two were talking. I thought that could have been done better by both parties.

Based on the quality of the products and work done, I would say that I do think the price is fair, even though it was more expensive. When you are shopping around, it's hard to appreciate the quality. They gave us a tour and we were very impressed to see the facility and the quality of the products. I think many customers- including me- don't know much about kitchens, and at the beginning of the project they don't understand the quality and service they are going to get. A lot of people probably look at the price difference. More times than not, they go for the big hardware stores and they never know they missed out on a much better product. I almost went cheaper because I could save a lot, but I would have been disappointed. It is a beautiful kitchen and I think it turned out really well.
