Product and installation are great - getting to that point was frustrating

It's very difficult to give a rating as we like the flooring product and our installer, Juan, did a great job. The problem was the delay in getting our flooring, because of some back-ordered transition molding.
We ordered one flooring (cork) on 10/10/16 and then decided it was not durable enough for us after closer examination of the sample, especially since we have a dog. We went in on 10/15 to change to a different flooring, hoping that we were making the change soon enough to avoid the 25% re-stocking fee, which in our case was $541.00. They said they could not waive the fee as the cork flooring had already been shipped from the manufacturer. Since we ordered the new flooring on 10/15/16 and did not get it for over 2 months, it made paying the re-stocking fee even more irritating and made us question whether the first flooring had actually been shipped that quickly. In early November we were told that the transition molding for our second order was on back-order and should be in by Nov. 11th. That date came and went. We were given a new date, same thing. Then again. Then again.
Since we are re-modeling our whole bedroom, it became a real issue as the flooring was holding up painting of the room and delivery of our new furniture. The follow up by the sales people was not great. There were times we were told we'd get a call with the status and we didn't, so we'd call or stop in. After a while, it seemed like the manager of the Elk Grove store should have been putting more pressure on the manufacturer, US Floors, to get the molding to them. I'm not sure how much blame to assign to US Floors and how much to assign to S&G Carpet for the delay. The molding came in on 12/22/16 and the EG store manager DID get an installer out on 12/23, for which we are very grateful, although that was not ideal timing because of Christmas. It was a cold and rainy day and the door from our laundry room to the garage had to be open for close to 6 hours so it was freezing in the house all day. If it were not for the great installation, I probably would give lower stars. My recommendation if you order flooring there is to ask up front if they have all the supplies for your order in their warehouse. If not, be prepared for a possible delay.
