The extra thousand miles
We did a complete tear down remodel of my wife's family home. Early in the project we needed to make decisions regarding flooring so that all the interior features could be coordinated. Our contractor recommended S & G. Our sales rep., Sheri Beine was extremely helpful. She patiently reviewed our plans and listened to my wife's preferences re: carpeting & flooring. We selected a laminate flooring and 2 different carpets for several rooms in the house, months before their actual installation. S & G matched a lower price that we were quoted on the laminate flooring. Sheri diligently checked in with us over the following 3 months during the course of the inevitable project delays. We made plans for an anniversary trip months in advance, thinking the project would be completed well before we left. We ended up being in Hawaii when the floor was installed. As the result of our misunderstanding some features of the floor product as it related to our specific project, the floor was installed but was unacceptable. We spoke with the Customer Service Manager, Wayne, while we were in Hawaii. He was very apologetic about interrupting our vacation & assured us that the situation would be resolved when we returned. We met with the Store Manager, Bill Kavanaugh, when we returned. Bill was absolutely focused on resolving the challenge to our satisfaction. He personally spent over an hour with us finding an acceptable product. When we finally decided on a replacement flooring, he quoted a jaw-dropping price for the much more expensive product that we had selected. I actually feel guilty (and extremely grateful) for the expense that Bill was willing to incur on our behalf. The flooring was installed & it's incredible!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you Sheri, Wayne & Bill. S & G stands by their products & service. Our contractor made the right recommendation & we will sing the praises of S & G to anyone that is in the market for flooring!
