Let me first tell you about the quote experience we had with a widely advertised competitor. After measuring the rooms and stair, and showing us the 6 or 8 floor color options, the competitor explained they would not remove our current base boards or do other kitchen related moving issues because they do not wish to be liable for any possible damage they may cause. They offered ugly, quarter rounds as base boards. They kept telling us luxury vinyl was not an option for our stairs, and that our stairs “scared” him. 8 stairs up, turn at landing and 7 more stairs up. What’s scary? They did not give us a written quote. Instead he wrote numbers on a piece of paper we supplied, with no words, just numbers. When we said we wanted to think about it, he left the room, made a call and came back telling us his manager authorized him to give us a discount. He wanted a commitment then and there, and even called the next day when we told them we would let them know if and when we were ready. Now, let’s compare to S&G. S&G came in and measures the rooms and stairs. Nice wide baseboards where included in the quote. We upgraded to a nice colonial style for only an extra $25. They removed the baseboards without fear of causing damage to our walls, and moved the kitchen appliances without forcing us to do the disconnections. The salesman printed a formal, and very detailed quote. Nothing was overlooked. When we said we wanted to think about the quote, they gave us the space to think and when we were ready, we called and set the plans in motion. We went to the showroom and was astonished by all the color options they had. Nice big samples in oppose to small squares samples. They call it a showroom for a reason. Their floor itself is a display of all different flooring types and colors! They offered to have the base boards pre-painted for a very reasonable price. Base boards were delivered to our home, which is 30 miles from their store. We even got the current month’s discount offer, saving us more money. They offered to beat any competitors offer. I showed the staff the piece of paper we had, with no words on it, that represented the competitors “quote”. Impossible to compare. Come installation day they began removal of the old flooring and installation. By the next day, at end of day, all was done. Appliances back in place, and everything looks beautiful. We are very pleased we went with S&G. We’ve been telling everyone what a great experience the whole process was!
