Mine has been a long and costly road of poor dentistry and just plain "over-dentistry" performed over the course of the past decade.

A recent transplant to Ponte Vedra, I arrived at what I was praying would be the tail end of my decade of Dental $@!#% - in "Temporaries" for crowns on my upper front teeth - and a case which had presented numerous problems and delays – none of my doing. I appreciated the fact that Dr. Burgess easily observed the defects in my present case and offered solutions to help me have the case ended well. Even though it was not his own work, Dr. Burgess took personal interest in my plight and was generous with his time and talents to help me achieve the goal I had sought. This job was ultimately finished by the practitioner in my former home town, yet I was left with new crowns so bulky and ill-fitting as to render me in constant pain, unable to eat properly, and with heretofore non-existent speech problems caused by the design of the crowns.

In spite of THREE round-trip excursions across country for my crowns to be adjusted properly (as should have been done by the lab in the first place), the former dentist had yet to properly adjust my bite, and refused to adjust any further. Dr. Burgess consented to helping me regain my formerly perfect bite with the hope that this would eliminate my pain and speech problems. He was extremely gentle, generous with his time, willing to listen to my input, and careful in his adjustments. It was clear to me that he had an extensive knowledge of occlusion and that I was in the best of hands. Kim, his assistant, has also been super during this entire matter. She has kept in touch with me as I kept giving my former dentist the opportunity to properly end his job. Kim was at my chairside the entire time Dr. Burgess was working today.

As I write this, my bite feels so much better, and also clean and slippery smooth. For the first time in 4 months, I can finally close my mouth without my teeth occluding improperly. I am praying this will resolve the pain I've been in, and am looking forward to being a permanent patient of the Burgess Center. I am writing this to express my deep gratitude to Dr. Burgess for working with me - he is a great guy, very kind and caring for his patients, as well as is his staff.
