Couldn't be better ...
It took several years of convincing from friends and relatives that I had hearing loss. It kind of sneaks up on you and you forget about all those sounds you used to hear. Vanity plays a role.
Dr Anzola's approached was to understand my daily challenges and then showing me the effects on my quality of life. She was able to graphically show me the different frequencies of sound I could no longer hear and the phonetic sounds that that were giving me the most problems hearing.
Surprisingly, she asked that my spouse accompany me on my 3rd visit after wearing the hearing aids. I thought it was so she could tune it to her voice; but the real purpose was to demonstrate to her why and how to talk with a hearing impaired person. That alone was the icing on the cake for me.
Bottom line .... it couldn't be better. I can hear the crickets and streams again when I go for my hikes.
