The cost range for the move we had prior was $550, up to a $650 maximum. After receiving the estimate and prior to the move … we sold a 7 foot sofa and 6 (six) chairs … left and did not move a large sofa, a large office desk, and a heavy recliner. We also left the refrigerator, washer/dryer, and various large mirrors and art pieces … and moved most all smaller items ourselves. We did add 4 (four) potted plants and a filing cabinet to the move that we did not previous specify. Our bill after the move was $1095, nearly double our anticipated cost. For a move of about 10 miles.
In addition, we had an antique shaving mirror that was broken into pieces during the move. ((We have before and after photos). This was a family gift that had been handed down for several generations.
Before we submitted a review we wanted to give them an opportunity for restitution or response but we never heard back from them.
We have made many moves through the years and have never been this surprised with what appears to be an unreasonable, unexpected, and dishonest cost increase. Had we known the actual total cost, we would have made other arrangements. This is our first ever complaint/claim against a moving company. We feel we. were grossly misled and that is being nice about it. Will never use them again! They still have not responded after trying to contact them.
