Overall Poor Job On Floor Coating
I found Floorgem Services through the county's small business booklet. After my research, I found this company to have positive reviews and called thinking I'd have a similar experience. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The owner, Ken, personally offered a discounted price. In the end even a discounted price was not enough.
Frankly, my floors looked terrible. Initially the crew put down two coats of polyurethane, but it looked like they hadn't bothered to dust or vacuum first. I called the company and asked them come and fix the problem. The crew came back and simply went over the initial two coats with a third. Then end result was way too thick. The floor was chipping and I could see the build up between the floorboards and eventually, flaking along the walls.
I called Floorgems again, both Ken and his project manager personally came to have a look. Speaking to his integrity, Ken agreed the floors were poorly done. He also offered a discounted price for his crew to come back and re-do the floors. By this time, I'd already been out of my place too long and couldn't be out of my home much longer. I declined his offer and decided to hire another company to fix the issue.
What was supposed to be a three day job took seven. The coating was put down prematurely and it turned out to be a disaster.
