I just redid a room because the sun pounds through the window and had destroyed the windowsill over the years. A friend told me about Wallpaper For Windows as a way to keep this from happening again. The instant the film went on, the temperature of the room dropped. I was wearing UV sensitive nail polish, and the color receded back almost to "shade" color. I probably won't put up curtains and am already thinking about putting in more "stained glass" in the next room I do.

My only caveat is that the so-called squeegee in the box is just a glorified business card and it left a couple of scratches on the first pane we did, before we got the hang of it. A shower squeegee was much more effective.
