Do not get for large window

The product quality seems just fine but it is not possible to apply to a large area without bubbles (leaving the installation looking cheap). We applied and reapplied and squeegeed for ours, following every instruction. It still looked bad (on sliding glass doors). I reached out to the company for support and they said the product is not damaged and to try again (reiterating the same steps we already followed). We tried again and it looks the same. I think this could be great on a smaller window but the company should warn against sliding glass doors or large windows.

Ariel, we're very disheartened to read this comment from you after the time we spent emailing with you all the ways the air bubbles can be taken care of. We didn’t just say “The product is not damaged and to try again (reiterating the same steps we already followed)”. You supplied us photo proof there wasn’t an issue with the product you received, the issue was with the installation. You say you asked for support and we “reiterated” our instructions, but in those emails you admit to using a rubber tipped squeegee in combination with the credit card squeegee provided, which is not recommended when needing to catch all the smaller air bubbles you showed us a photo of. When small air bubbles are being pesky, you must re-saturate the glass in that area, lay the film back down, and squeegee with the plastic card squeegee only. From there we suggested different ways the film can be taken down and reapplied to fix those problem areas of your door without having to remove all 84” at once.

There is in fact only one correct way to install static cling vinyl, so forgive us if we went back over the instructions in case something got skipped or misinterpreted, like the type of squeegee one should be using.

Then you quit writing us back. You could have stayed in contact with us and let us know what more you were wanting or needing from us instead of leaving a review like this. Advising against using our product on sliding glass doors is something we’ll never do, and is misinformation for potential customers, as sliding glass doors were the inspiration for the development of Wallpaper for Windows.

There are currently thousands of sliding glass doors being covered with Wallpaper for Windows, and a good half or more of them are 8-foot doors. On one of our seven appearances on QVC we can be seen installing one side of a sliding glass door set in less than 12 minutes with a perfect finish. When we released our product in 1998, Good Morning America featured us as one of the 5 “Best New Products” on the market, specifically citing that the ease of installation/application and beautiful finished look of the film decorating sliding glass doors and storm doors as their reason for including us.
