Tricky Bug From Recent Magento Patch
We recently had a strange bug that was causing a 404 Page Not Found error when saving settings in a grid module that was installed in our store.
It wasn't clear what was causing the issue and we reached out to our hosting provider Nexcess for some assistance. At most, we figured that they'd be able to tell us whether or not it was a hosting problem. Our expectations were about to be exceeded.
Joseph Salk took charge and over the course of two days, with a few back-and-forth messages, he was able to pinpoint the issue to a recent patch that had been applied. He didn't stop there.
He tested his theory in our staging environment and was able to determine the exact module that was responsible for the issue. And he took it even further.
He supplied articles describing the issue as well as how to remediate. He even found a useful utility that we could use to help find other issues.
In short, we've been nothing less than satisfied with Nexcess as a hosting partner, and it is people like Joseph that keep customers like us happy and coming back.
I would highly recommend them for hosting a Magento solution. They know their stuff and treat customers like #1.
