I have a 2 year old Cocker Spaniel who has seen some of the best vets on LI for his ear issues since he was a puppy. Prior to coming to Cross River Animal Hospital, I had seen a dermatologist who informed me my dog may require surgery to remove his ear canals, known as TECA. His only hope to save his hearing would be to begin a protocol of very strong steriods and Atopia. I was devistated. In my reseach of different procedures that could be done, I came to learn of Dr. Mayland and his team of specialists. I called and spoke to Chung and Alex, both of whom listened with compassion and sincerity. Dr. Mayland spoke with me in detail as well before I made my decison to see him, as I live well over an hour from the Hospital.

Upon my arrival, I noted how lovely the Hospital was on the outside. Once I came in, I was greeted warmly, by Dr. Mayland at the front door. When he examined my dog, he took great care, detail and time. The outcome was much better than I could have hoped, as an option I had not known about, using a laser to help Otis issues, was done there. I elected to try the treatment for my dog. Within 24 hours, the swelling in his ear was down to my eye. He was also not scratching at his ears with just the one treatment. He will need a series, however, this is a SAFE treatment with proven results. Food options were also discusses as well as other causes for alergies and a plan for overall wellness. All of this care was also affordable, where as other specialists I'd seen charged me hundreds of dollars, and never informed me of this new technology, which was painless and effective. I was also allowed to be with my dog during the procedure. At no time was he the least bit uncomfortable.
