I recently had Lasik done by Dr. Poppell in Ft. Walton Beach. I am very happy with the results. I have been a (-6) prescription for over 25 years, and found myself growing more and more frustrated with glasses and contact lenses. I avoided many situations due to fear of breaking my glasses or losing contact lenses. I couldn't even sit in a room with a fan on me if I was wearing contacts due to dryness and eye irritation. I have always enjoyed jogging/swimming out on Princess Beach on Okaloosa Island which I have also avoided for the past several years. I recently began jogging again and even played in the basketball league at my local Church. Although I was able to find providers who were cheaper, I decided to go with the Emerald Coast Eye Institute. I believe you get what you pay for, and I was not ready to pinch pennies when it involved my eyes. Although results may vary, my overall experience was very pleasant. Now I see 20-15 in my left and 20-20 in my right. Staff was very nice to me, and made me feel very comfortable before/during/after the procedure. I would recommend this procedure to anyone who is tired of the hassle of contacts and glasses. It really is a life changing thing. Thanks Doc.
