Collinwood Assisted Living and Memory Care, Ft. Collins, CO

I can't think of any time I've been disappointed with them.

My brother is developmentally delayed, with high functionality. He moved into Collinwood Assisted Living and Memory Care, Ft. Collins, CO. 13 years ago. Before that, he had always lived with our parents. That was the first time he had ever lived away from home, he had always lived with our folks for all those years before that.

I shopped around, and they were comparatively priced with other facilities. We got him settled in there, at first he was in an apartment, independent living, and he could come and go on his own because there was only so much supervision at that level. Then, when he needed more help, we moved him to assisted living, into a single occupancy room. I thought it was very good that they offer the different levels, and thought it was good that my brother was able to move from one level of care to another. He didn't have to leave the facility, the move was seamless. He's now been in assisted living for about 7 years or so. Also, the facility director came on 1 year after my brother moved in, so I think it's nice that he has a few people that he knows there. He really has been able to cultivate his relationships with people there, and I think that's really nice.

I really appreciate that they seem to be willing to work with my brother. There have been times where he's acted out and had behavior problems and they are always willing to work with him. Most the time he's easy to work with though.

I also appreciate that they are so helpful and willing to give us information for what we need as far as who we should talk to about Medicare information, they provide references of where to go and who to see.

The times I have been there, I visit from California about twice a year, the facility has been clean, well-kept, and a nice atmosphere. When I am there, I always try to eat there, and feel that the dining experience is good too. Usually, if people complain about something, it's about the food. I think the food is good, and haven't heard my brother complain about it.

Overall, I have really good feelings about this place and the people, I appreciate all they do to help my brother.
