Difficult situation with service

We purchased a number off appliances from Russ at the Bloomington store. All were delivered and we had Appliance World install our dishwasher. After a number of cycles, we noticed an odor coming from the washer. We called Dick Van Dykes and asked for a service call. They made the call, but determined nothing was wrong. We still noticed the odor. Two more times they came to our home and found nothing wrong. It wasn't until the fourth visit that the service man explained the problem. The drain was above the washer so when the cycle was complete some potential dirty water would go back into the appliance and caused the odor. We were changed for the call, though they again, did nothing to fix it. We called the Springfield location numerous times to speak with someone in a position to help us, and could not get anyone but a service rep. We called Russ in the Bloomington store who sold us the equipment and got no help. I would rather drive to Chicago or St. Louis to buy appliances before I fall for the guarantee they offer here in Bloomington.

I apologize for any issues that may have prompted you to create this poor review of our company. I do show where we were able to rectify the situation and come out the next day before 12:00pm to accommodate your schedule. I have also spoken with your husband in regards to your troublesome dishwasher. I let your husband know that I was talking with GE to see what could be done because GE stated they did not know what the next step would be to fix the issue. GE offered a pro rate to purchase a dishwasher through them, and I let your husband know that the warranty you have with us would be able to cover a portion of the amount of the pro rate. There would only be a minimal amount of out of pocket expense incurred by you. You would be getting a brand new appliance for close to $30.00 after we pay for what the warranty covers. Dick Van Dyke Inc. does not manufacture the appliances, we only sell and repair them. That is why we offer the warranty to stand behind our appliances. If this unit was not under the warranty it would have cost close to 200.00 for the repairs that were needed. We value you as a long standing customer and appreciate your patronage.
