We purchased a "short sale" home that had been neglected over time and still had water damaged walls and ceilings from earlier roof leaks that had since been fixed. The ceiling was coming down around the chimney and it had a popcorn texture throughout. The walls also had cracks in them, due to settling or poor drywall work in the past. Throughout the house, there were other water damaged spots that needed repairs or replacement.

AJR put new blue board and plaster up throughout the the majority of the first floor cathedral ceiling, which are 14 feet at the highest point. This required additional staging on their part. They also took on additional projects on the fly, as the scope of the project grew due to additional damage found during the demo stage of the kitchen remodel. AJR took the new projects in stride, despite their interference with their work flow and expected timeline and were very flexible to work with.

Keep in mind that, anyway you cut this type of work, this is a messy project if done on a large scale. They put down good protection for the floors and other areas, but don't expect a pristine environment when they leave. They aren't a cleaning service.

In the end, I was very satisfied with the work and felt that they were genuinely concerned with delivering a finished project that met or exceeded our expectations. They communicated well throughout the project, were very affordable, and stuck to the quote they initially provided. I expect to hire them again when we take on new renovation projects down the road.
