I had a very disappointing experience with Can American Motors. I looked them up online because I needed someone to replace the radiator. I called them and they gave me an estimate. I had to pick up the car from the dealership the next day and had some errands to run, so it took me a little longer than I expected to bring the car into the shop. Meanwhile, the receptionist called me a million times after I told her I'm still bringing in the car. I brought the car in and she asked me if I wanted to leave a deposit, but I didn't have it on me at the time, so they gave me a receipt showing the expenses at $365.70. Saturday came around and I got a call from the shop. I thought she was going to tell me that my radiator was done, but she actually said that they had ordered the wrong radiator, which I didn't really understand because they had my car sitting there in the shop. Initially, I thought that would be fine as long as I have my car back by Monday because that's when my rental car was due back. Then before I got off the phone she told me it would be an additional $150. At that time we had just been hit by the hurricane and I was basically living out of bags in a hotel. I couldn't afford the extra $150 and I told her that. So she put the manager on the phone and he was a bit irate. He told me the money would be coming out of their pockets and he actually offered to hold my car for two weeks until I could come up with the money, which I thought was completely absurd. I went in personally and spoke to him at that point because I was upset. I told him I couldn't afford to pay an extra $150 dollars, maybe an extra $50. In the end, he settled on a $50 charge, which I did not even want to pay, but they had my car and I needed it back. I paid them the $365.70 while I was there and then when I came back to pick up the car I paid an additonal $50 on a credit card.
