Poor Business Service

We have used Advent before and they did a good job of getting our AC up and running and waived the service call. However, our AC went out the night before we called. We called at 8am and was told the tech would be out after lunch, called back later and was told that it would be after dinner time. They finally arrived at our house at 8:40pm...We knew the blow motor was out and of course that was confirmed. However, the price they charged for the motor was twice what it normally cost and then they wanted to charge a part aquisition fee of 88.00 on top of the 400.00 and something part and still charge us the 80.00 for the service call. Plus they said they would not be able to get the part in until Monday. Which meant that it would be sometime Monday night..The temps have been around 104-107. My husband knew enough that the motor was not worth what they wanted to charge. Needless to say found a place that for all the parts that we needed came to a whopping 203.00 not the 400 and something. Our total to fix our own AC 203, their charge was over 500.00..When companies feel that they can mark up the price that much and still charge the other fees, that is time to look for a more honest place. Will never use them again.

to meet your expectations regarding our arrival time and the estimate we
provided on our recent service call.

In a business that deals with often-unpredictable machines, our technicians
are subject to a number of variables that make it extremely difficult to
predict arrivals, despite our best efforts. (Especially during our peak season
July-August). At Advent Air, we provide a guaranteed response time of 24
hours to our maintenance agreement and warranty installation clients.

In regards to the estimate that our service technician provided, Advent Air
installs many OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts, which CAN
be ordered off the Internet and installed by many handy consumers. But
of course, D.I.Y. (Do It Yourself) jobs never account for ones own labor,
including the time spent researching, ordering and installing the parts, to
say nothing about the installation being done correctly. We are happy to
hear that you were able to find the part you needed to repair your own
HVAC system.

We have been in business since 1981 (31 years) and employ seasoned
professional technicians, who have been factory-trained, and whose
education and expertise set them apart from many of our competitors.

Outstanding customer service and honest, up-front, no-surprise pricing are
two very important philosophies we live by on a daily basis. We value every
client greatly, and make a habit of going above and beyond to meet the high
expectations our clients have come to expect from us.

We hope you will reconsider using Advent Air Conditioning, and perhaps
give us another chance the next time your system needs repairs or
maintenance.
