Cody Pools

Poor Customer Service

Cody Pool's customer service and follow-on corrective actions are abysmal. As a retired Senior Army Officer, I have had my integrity questioned in my attempts to get Cody Pools to fix issues which were never completed. Specially, Cody Pools had to replace the equipment platforms which holds the equipment which operates the pool. Initially, Cody Pools failed to set the pool equipment on a solid platform. Once Cody Pools properly set up the pool equipment on a proper platform, Cody Pools failed to electrically ground the pool equipment (which we were not aware of until recently).

Not being aware that the pool equipment was not properly grounded, lighten strikes destroyed our pool motherboard. Recently, our pool pump (our pool was built in 2013) stopped working. Our local pool technician who cleans our pool and makes repair if necessary changed the pool pump. During the process of changing the pool pump, our pool technician noticed that none of the pool equipment had been grounded. My pool technician and I looked over that the old pool equipment platform to notice that all of the grounding wires were partially under the original platform. I took pictures of the grounding wires which had not been re-established when the new equipment platform was erected. I sent pictures to Cody Pools GM.

When I presented the issue to the Cody Pools GM, he immediately became defensive and tried to find every imaginable excuse to provide an alibi for Cody Pool's failure to ground the equipment. Cody Pools GM used constant profanity during his attempts to disparage my family and my pool technician. Cody Pools GM stated that maybe an animal might have eaten the grounding wires or maybe the grounding wires were dislodged when cutting the grass. Our backyard is hardscape with no grass. We did not ask Cody Pools to reimburse us for the pool motherboard ($500.00) which was destroyed by a lighten strike. We just asked them to properly ground the pool equipment that they failed to ground seven years ago.

Cody Pools has repeatedly failed to reply to our recent requests to ground the equipment. Thus, I am sharing this story. During the past seven years, we have recommended Cody Pools to at least three neighbors who had pools built by Cody Pools. Wish I could take back those endorsements. Beware of their shoddy customer service and inability to admit errors of omission.
