Logan Automotive

They are, without a doubt, the best kept secret in Des Moines.

I am retired now, but I was in the construction business for 20 some years and had a fleet of vehicles. Logan Automotive serviced every one of those vehicles. We also pushed snow in the winter, and it was crucial to get the vehicles repaired and back on the road. Time is of the essence in the middle of a snow storm.

In all honest, they would come down to the shop early in the morning to work on the vehicles so that I could get them back up, running, and making money for me. They did all that at no extra charge. Their service is impeccable, and I can't say enough about how customer oriented they are.

The other thing they do that is phenomenal to me is that when you take a vehicle in for repair they will call and tell you exactly what is wrong and give an estimated cost for the repairs. In addition, if I take a vehicle in for routing maintenance and they find something wrong, they will call me and tell me what they found. They will also tell me their opinion about when I should fix it.

They are so thorough and very customer oriented. I have dealt with a lot of businesses over the years, and I have never, ever run into anyone so customer-service conscious as they are. Not a lot of people know about them, but I have referred many people to Logan Automotive over the years, and they in turn have become loyal customers.

Their quality is absolutely excellent. I know that in businesses where you have human beings doing work there are times when there are going to be mistakes or things overlooked. A couple of years ago my son was traveling around as a DJ and had taken his car into Bruce for new brakes. On his way home, at around 3 A.M., one of his wheels locked up. We had it towed to Logan Automotive in the middle of the night.

The next day Bruce called me and told me what the issue was. He apologized up one side and down the other because it was an oversight on the part of one of his employees. He was glad that there wasn't an accident, and that everyone was safe. When I went to pick the car up he didn't charge me anything and even paid the towing bill.

He could have told me that it was an issue with something else rather than admit that it was a mistake. A lot of places would have been reluctant to take responsibility for the issue. He didn't do that though. That demonstrates to me the level of their integrity, which is high. I have the utmost respect for them.
