Every time I've brought my car in, Hal's Auto Care has always been very courteous. They always pretty well explained beforehand what problems there were and what it would take to fix them. They usually are done with the car in a very timely manner, so when they tell me it will be so many hours, it was usually done, and that's about it I guess!
