I had used AC State Air before, 2 years ago, and when I had a problem with my air conditioner this time, I couldn't remember who had come and serviced the unit before. I couldn't find their information or for the life of me remember their name.

I had someone else come out to evaluate the inside and outside unit. They just blew me away, they gave me history of the company and what they could do, but the numbers were off the chart. I felt sick it was so expensive.

I was talking to a fiend of mine who had used AC State Air, and I remembered that they were who had come before, so I turned around and called them. Mike came out, and I said that another company had come out and blew up some numbers for me, but I want him to look at the AC and tell me everything that was wrong with the inside and outside units. I didn't tell him how much the other guy quoted.

It was hard to get Mike out here, because his schedule is so full, but he came out on a Sunday from hours away to look at my units. You can't live here in Texas without air conditioning. He did find a leak, which is what the other guy found. Mike told me some of the same things I remember him telling me before, about how he is honest and won't blow up the numbers. He lays it on the line and has had customers for a long time since he doesn't make it cost an arm and a leg.

When he told the price it was dramatically different than the other company. I showed him the invoice I had been given and told him to look at what they were going to charge me for what he would do for at least a $1,000 less. He said to not ever use that company again as they were going to rip me off. AC State Air is not a really large company, but they are an honest company.

I often feel like I'm taken advantage of because I don't know enough about these types of things. I replaced the whole inside unit for 75% less than what the first guy was going to charge me, and it only took 24 or 36 hours for Mike to came out and replace the whole thing. He cleaned it all up, put a nice face on it, and looked at the outside unit. It needed a little indicator, so he did that too. I gave him a check, and life has been good.

I put his magnet on the air conditioner so that next time something goes wrong I know who to call. He is very honest and very good at what he does. Mike gave me options of replacing the coil or replacing the whole inside unit. Since the cost was very close I just said to replace the whole thing. The price was in the ball park I was comfortable with. He told me everything he was doing, and was very thorough. He took the time to answer all my questions.
