We could not get a dispute on charges resolved satisfactorily nor could we get a breakdown on the disputed charges
I would not recommend Friendly Plumber for any of their services. We had a very bad experience with them when we questioned a bill for over $800 for a routine service call in which the service plan covered the visit. Even though I repeatedly asked to speak to someone higher up in the organization I was never allowed to reach anyone higher than the service manager and was told higher management had no voice mail and I could not be given their cell numbers. I repeatedly asked for a detailed break down of the over $800 "miscellaneous parts" charge and never received an explanitory statement. I was told the service fee was waived as a courtesy when in fact we'd paid for a service contract. I was told that the ultraviolet filter bulb we requested be replaced was $200 which we knew in advance. Then I was told that the company's cost for the filter was greater than what they charged me, which I find hard to believe. The best they could come up with was that the remaining $600 plus was for labor at $375 an hour. This would be to take out a bulb and put it back. They did have to make a separate trip to their suppler for the ultraviolet bulb because it was not a standard part kept on the truck which we knew and had asked that they get the bulb before making the service call. We've had other furnace companies replace this same bulb for much much less and the cost of the bulb was always also $200. And to top it off I spent two weeks trying to get this unsuccessfully resolved and those I spoke to were very defensive and unsympathetic.
