No Integrity

My wife took her car in because the check engine light was on, it was idling rough, running very poor, leaking oil and had some electrical problems. They fixed all the oil leaks and electrical problems. This issue is about it running poorly. After inspecting it they recommended replacing the oxygen sensor, the spark plugs and the PCV valve. The quote for (parts 327.74) + (labor 270.00) + (tax 55.59) was $653. When she picked up the car the check engine light was on and it was running even worse. So obviously none of the parts THEY recommended to replace were necessary since it was running worse. Therefore they charged her for unnecessary repairs. This is in direct conflict with the ASE-Certified Technicians Code of Ethics regarding honesty for necessary repairs. How, in good conscience, can they charge someone for fixing something they clearly did not fix? A few days later she took it back and they said it NOW needs the mass air flow sensor replaced (all it needed to begin with) They charged her another $240 but now it ran good. Regarding the check engine light they told her "it's all about the process of elimination" which is unheard of from a shop with "ASE Certified Technicians" and "state of the art diagnostic equipment." The process of elimination is what a backyard mechanic does when he doesn't even know how to diagnose it properly and he just starts replacing things. So she had to pay $1,050 to get it running right when it should have only been about $400 had they diagnosed it properly to begin with. (84081) (84139)

I will remove this review if you make this right and give her a partial refund.
