The first Kitchen Aid range ($1000.00) arrived on time, but it had enough damage that we rejected it. The next one had a small dent in the side that is visible. We were pleased that ST & A offered us a $20 refund.
Darnell and Shawn (delivered the range) were nice, but I noticed that they seemed in a hurry. Although they set our storm door to stay open when they delivered the range, they did not put it back. (minor issue).
Darnell seemed rather defensive when I said we were told we would receive a free complimentary cord by the salesperson when we ordered the range. Shawn was nice enough to phone the store and speak to our contact person. She immediately okayed the free cord.
When I complained a bit about the small dent, and said it seems like they must not be packing these ranges very well, Darnell had numerous reasons why it wasn't really the company's fault. There are a few minor scratches on the cooktop, which I will live with, since I will damage the range myself eventually. This particular range is beautiful, but my previous Kitchen Aid range had a better glass top, which did not show scratches like this one, perhaps because it had some "texturing" in the pattern.
STV & A is an upscale store, with state-of-the-art appliances. If I owned the store, I would be disappointed that my delivery employees exhibited some of the responses I have described. I believe stellar employees would listen to the client and verify complaints with the salesperson, rather than letting the client make that demand. Stellar employees do not make the client feel that their time is more important than that of the client's. My husband and I were professionals and we do expect great customer service from such a high-class company! You can do it!
