Winchester Transmission & Services

The problems got fixed.

I had a transmission oil leak and I took my car to Winchester Transmission & Services. They fixed the leak. I'm ok with that. However, they told me the cost would be $740 to $840 and they ended up charging me $1469. I don't know anything about cars so when they told me what work needed to be don, I let them go through with it.

I thought everything would be fine but when I picked up the car it had a problem that was not present when I first dropped it off. The car would make a loud, motorcycle kind of noise when I turned it on. The shop was closed when I picked up the car so I had to return later to get that noise problem fixed. Once I returned and had them check out the problem they told me that the manifold had a hole in it and had to be replaced. I had them go ahead with that because I wanted the problem fixed. It cost almost $600.

I have the original manifold with me and I took it to three different shops to ask how it is that a manifold gets a hole in it and they all told me that manifolds last a very long time and that it was not possible for that to have happened.

Another reason why I originally took my car in is because the "Check Engine" light was on. They told me it was a computer problem and it would cost about $500 to fix. When I got home I told my nephew about that light on the dashboard and he was able to get it to turn off in about 8 minutes. Anyway, everything got fixed.
