Platinum Pools

Warranty

BIG BIG issues once pool was finished and filled with water! No communication between contractors caused a cut off pipe to have a "fixture" placed when plaster installed. Water drained out of "fixture" into cut off pipe and into my yard (completely flooded). Had to have repair company come in and "try to locate" why leaking. Took 2 full days. Discovered main reason (cut off pipe with fixture) and an additional 15+ leaks. Then fast forward to warranty - WHAT WARRANTY??? Chunk of plaster fell out - Platinum sent out someone to repair. Then that "patch" fell out. Sent another repair person. They couldn't repair, so Platinum then said they wouldn't warranty. WHAT??? You send out 2 people to fix and then decide no it isn't under warranty. Needless to say I have a chunk of plaster out of the side of my pool. 2 years after completion plaster started cracking in many areas, mainly in the steps area. Called and you guessed it not under warranty. My pool was rushed when a hurricane was forecasted. They wanted to get the pool structure in as quick as possible so that mud hole wouldn't cave in. I have had MANY MANY issues because of their workmanship & lack of service & warranty. I had to call and ask about a pipe sticking up out of the ground at equipment. They FORGOT to install part of the equipment. Then when they did it is just "sitting" on top of PVC pipe unstable.

Now I have called to inquire about the light fixture in my pool. I thought it was just a burned out bulb. Had my pool service company (NOT PLATINUM) come out only to discover that a black plastic sensor had melted off and melted to the bulb. I contacted Platinum to ask about type/brand of light fixture & if under warranty. 1) not under warranty of course 2) fixture installed doesn't have a plastic black sensor "we installed a standard Hayward fixture". Really? Then do you want to come out and see the black plastic melted piece that is clearly burned off at the bottom of this "standard Hayward" fixture that you installed?

Oh I could have them come out to see what THEY installed - but for a service call fee.

This company will not get another dime from me. I work for a major company in construction and customer service is #1 priority. Warranty isn't compromised. We warranty things that shouldn't be - for many many many years to keep our customers happy. Oh and by the way - I used Platinum Pools because the company I work for used them, and figured they must have good quality construction, customer service and warranty. NOT!!!

Way to enhance the lives of your customers Platinum Pools. Scott Waldo, I wish I still had a copy of the email you personally sent to me basically saying I should understand about warranty, since I work for a large home builder. No, I don't understand because we have integrity at my company.

The best compliment you can receive is referrals from happy customers! I would be ashamed to refer Platinum Pools to any of my family, friends and customers.
