I started taking spanish lessons at Philolingua in July 2010 and continued while I was in San Diego through December. I found my instructor, Jordi, to be very easygoing and helpful. The method of teaching is not boring and cumbersome like other curriculums. I was speaking in spanish from my first lesson and all subsequent lessons thereafter. I really felt like I was learning something new and useful after every class. Most language schools I have been to try to inundate you with grammar and vocabulary before you actually start speaking. Jordi, had me start speaking with what little I knew and we built from there, IN SPANISH. I was learning the grammar through conversation while learning phrases and common sayings at the same time. Jordi is such a patient and understanding teacher that it is impossible not to learn something every class. I recommend this school to anyone who would like to learn spanish. In fact, I think 5 or 6 other languages are also taught there. I plan to continue my classes at philolingua when I return to San Diego this summer. You won't be disappointed.
