The guy from Abacus Plumbing, Air Conditioning & Electrical was completely uninterested in figuring out what was wrong with the AC system. He seemed more interested in selling me something that would cost me thousands of dollars more. He quoted me $1,350 for a repair that would have taken about twenty minutes to do and about less than a hundred dollars in parts to repair it. He used this to push me towards buying a whole new system. The system he tried to sell me was priced at an extremely non-competitive rate. When I called to set up the appointment, I was told that there was a coupon code available to have the assessment fee waived. When he showed up, he said that the coupon code was not applicable, and so I had to pay an assessment fee that I didn't think I would have to pay in the first place.
