Fortress performed a complete tear-off of the 20-year-old leaking roof on our 2000 square foot home and replaced it with a new roof. They put drip edge around the perimeter and installed the code-required ice-and-water shielding at all the joints. They used higher-grade (30#) felt than was on the roof originally and installed ridge vents.

We got 3 estimates for this job, and Fortress was actually the high bid. However, as we closely examined the bids we could see the reason for the higher price: better quality material than either of the other companies offered. Everything about our dealings with Fortress was highly professional. Of the 3 bidders, they were the only one to come and meet with us personally and the estimate involved actually getting on the roof and directly inspecting it. Once we accepted their bid and made a 50 down payment we were quickly put on schedule for about 10 days later. A major snowstorm delayed the work by a couple of days. I was expecting the storm to completely shut down roofing, and was amazed when I found it only delayed things by the amount of time the storm kept the crews off the roofs; even though we had about a foot of snow on the roof on the scheduled day, Fortress showed up with a crew and shoveled off the snow and started the tear-off. The whole job took about 3 days. The only thing that was slow was the time they took to invoice us for the final payment. The new roof looks great, does not leak, and comes with a guarantee. We are very happy with the whole process. I would certainly use Fortress again, but hope and believe I will never need to!
