Didn't give my cat many options to live

I needed to take my cat in 2 days prior to her normal appointment because she licked bug spray off the floor. Water was used to rinse the floor but the poison was wet and stuck in the soft wax layer. It's likely she was trying to get as much as she could until 5:30 a.m. . My roommate didn't realize the consequences of what something like that could be. They wouldn't see her by working her in unless I paid an emergency fee. I just wanted her worked in. I don't have a lot of money and I explained that to them. Their prices are high for any veterinarian I have been to. I borrowed money so that my baby could be taken care of. They worked her in and several hours before they closed, they called and said she was ready but the doctor was gone for the day. Her name is Dr Hardinge. I asked about needing to talk with the doctor about her teeth and maybe that was why she wasn't wanting to eat and the person on the other line said there was something else going on with my cat. I knew they only had X-rays and not the blood work back so I asked her if I was just supposed to worry all night and she said yes. My cat was very ill at that point and it was more than insensitive to do bordering on cruel. I had desperation in my voice as I did anytime I called during the 8 day period. I was trying to get a call back to discuss why she wasn't given IV fluids or an antibiotic but it sounded like the doctor thought it was just cancer and didn't even give her a prescription for appetite stimulant since she wasn't eating anything or really drinking. She means a lot to me of course and we have been through a lot together. She is turning 11 next month in June 2021. After 8 days of no treatment my baby's eyes went from an emerald green to a Hazel and I looked at the whites of her eyes... They turned brown and yes I'm crying. A doctor Tepper saw her because I couldn't get Dr Hardinge on the phone because she was supposed to call me on a Friday and she was off the following Monday. He put her on a good plan and thought that they couldn't rule out cancer but that he thought it was a type of kitty hepatitis that is curable with antibiotics! He gave her steroids to help the inflammation and we are putting her on a good diet. He was kind but when I wrote him back to ask him about vitamin d to help her he ignored me. Apparently maybe because his diagnosis was different than hers and she is an owner? He gave us hope and she is doing better. She is eating and drinking. Her eyes still aren't in emerald green and she feels really lousy some days but much improvement. Dr Hardinge called my partner and said she was discontinuing My Pet's care immediately on the day she had a follow-up appointment. She said I yelled at her staff when really I was desperate to get her fluids and IV antibiotics. That could have saved her liver from being damaged to the point where the whites of her eyes turned brown. I wouldn't recommend taking any pet there! It's really really sad
