I can't say enough about the care given and the expert veterinary skills administered by Dr. Mayland and his staff in saving our 5 year old cat's eye. Our cat Maya (1 of 3 we have) apparently had a run in with a rose bush or some other prickly shrub, which we found out about after bringing her in with what looked like from our perspective a common eye issue. Doc quickly and efficiently diagnosed that in fact a thorn had completely punctured the eyeball and was imbedded in her iris. After advising that Maya may lose her eye, he quickly got her into surgery and skillfully was able to open the eye, remove the thorn (which he kept for us to see) and patch her back up. We had her home the next day, and that night Doc called personally to check on her. How many doctors, pet or otherwise, do that these days? After a follow up visit per Doc's orders (and at no charge), we found that her eye was completely healed, with barely, if any, sign of the injury. Thanks again Doc and staff!!!
