I purchased a Dyson DC23 Animal and totally love this vacuum. I put it to the test against my old Rainbow and Dyson won, hands down. I've owned Rainbows for 35 years and never, ever thought I'd find a better vacuum. It took me about 6 months to finally decide to try the Dyson and the only regret I have is that I waited to long. All my friends and family who own Dyson vacs can now say, "I told you so!"

Shipping was a bit slow, but it was free, so I guess I should not complain. I ordered the vac Monday the week before Labor Day and did not receive it until Wednesday after Labor Day. I had hoped it would arrive sooner as I had planned to do some deep cleaning over the holiday weekend.

I vacuumed my carpet with my Rainbow and then went over it with the Dyson and was stunned at the amount of dog hair it pulled up. My dog likes to get in my favorite recliner when I am not sitting there and it was a bear trying to get the hair off the fabric. I was actually considering a leather recliner because it would be easier to clean off the hair. Now, I am going to keep my comfortable old fabric covered recliner and just use the pet hair attachment.
